Chef Dan
Our beloved Chef Dan, former instructor at the Culinary Institute of America, total smarty pants, classically trained, well traveled and simply cool colleague, is one of a kind. While his food is exceptional, we are most proud to say that Dan is truly a wonderful human being who has the distinction of being a mentor to young people who are in need of direction and building their skills. He trains, mentors, inspires and leads with grace, all the while serving heads of state and discriminating palettes. With past experience including leading kitchens for the United Nations, athletes in Beijing and lucky foodies in New York, he inspires us all with his dedication and talent. Oh, and he makes us all drool when he describes in detail his mom’s homemade empanadas.
Here’s a funny story…
“In 2004, on my way to feed Colin Powell and the Security Council, a newly recruited K-9 security guard stopped me and requested that the K-9 inspect my food. This was a first! Anyway, the dog inspected the food, and then ate Colin Powell’s dinner. With a grin, but actually being rather serious at the time – I told the security guard that he was going to need to tell the Security Council what happened to Colin’s dinner. I love this business…never a dull moment.”
